James Blake - Not Long Now

I saw JB at Warehouse Project in Manchester on Saturday night. We accidentally missed the end of the set and everyone around me was gurning but it was the best the best. James Blake bridges substantial, atmospheric sounds you can just stand and watch in awe, and music that makes you want to move. He came out first with Mount Kimbie, the support, and I think everyone was in a good mood from the off because the crowd was so positive and fun to be a part of. Also, more chilled than you’d expect from WHP though I guess that’s due in part to the nature of the music. WHP is fun to go to because it’s not really a gig, you don’t need to be at the front, it doesn’t matter if you can’t see. Just get in the zone… CMYK was a highlight but it always is. I love Kelis, I love James Blake, ya know?

We didn’t last til his dj set because frankly you have to be on something to stay up until 5.30am and it’s not my scene.
