Does anyone really need an album of covers sung by a fourteen year old girl? Seriously, I am struggling to see the point of Birdy. There isn’t really much between her and the karaoke fest that is the X factor, other than she possibly plays the piano too? Of the reviews or interviews I’ve scanned, it appears there is one original song on the album but she was too nervous to release a whole original album yet. Why bother releasing one at all? She is a child. She has plenty of time to release an album. None of her covers are better than the originals, and it’s a shame that she gets more radio play than some of the original artists. When people gush about her ‘talent’ I find it difficult to understand what the hell they are talking about.
